What is the difference between a single stage and a two stage snowthrower?
Toro single stage models feature a patented Curved Rotor that collects the snow and throws it out a high capacity funnel in a single action. Snow is directed through an adjustable chute to distances up to 30 feet. The rotor provides self-propelling action when the unit is tipped slightly forward.

On Toro two stage units there is a high performance, slow speed drum auger that assures a consistent flow of snow into the impeller. The higher speed impeller hurls the snow through the adjustable chute where the snow is thrown up to 40 feet. Self propelling is provided through the rear wheels with both forward and reverse gears.
